The village Geraltov lies on the southwest ledge of The Nizke Beskydy. Average sea level in the village is 512 metres. The Cergov Mountains (Cergovske pohorie) complemens marvelous surrounding scenery. The first written mention comes from 1339. Along with creation of dwellings inhabitants had built wooden church. It was removed to Trocany at Bardejov district at the end of 18th century. New stone Greco-catholic Cathedral has been standing in the village since 1792. It excels by grateful iconostas. Inscriptions in the cathedral in clerical Slavonic have been unfortunately during reconstruction in 20th century destroyed. At village surrounding there was built Chapel of The Virgin Mary of Lourds. Geraltov has got two local parts – Zavadka and Zatkovce.
Originally these were three separate villages and later they have been connected. In spite of it traltov has fewer than 200 inhabitants. But this small scenic village is very attractive by its nature beauties or typical architecture.
